FOCUS · PRIVACY & ACCOUNT DATA

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 October 2026

This policy explains what Focus handles when you use the Focus study and screen-time app, what stays on your phone, and the choices available to you.

At a glance: Study plans, app-usage summaries, reel counts, and notification content used for Focus controls are processed and stored on your device. Focus does not send that content to its account servers. Account, Premium-access, and optional push-notification records are handled through Google Firebase services.

Information used for your account

When you sign in with Google or email and password, Firebase Authentication processes your sign-in details. Focus receives your account ID and may use your name and email address to display your account, provide support, and connect your account to Premium access. Focus does not receive or store your plain-text password.

If you use a Google profile picture, Focus loads it from the picture URL supplied by Google. A custom profile picture you choose is stored locally on your phone and is not uploaded to Focus. If you email support, we use your email address and message to respond.

Information stored on your device

To provide study and blocking features, Focus can process the information below on your phone:

Usage access, Accessibility, notification access, and display-over-other-apps permissions are used for the features you turn on. Focus processes this information on-device and does not upload other apps’ screen content, your usage history, or the text of blocked notifications to Focus account servers. Eligible app data may be included in Android device backups if backup is enabled in your device settings.

Information sent to Focus servers

When you use account or Premium features, Focus servers may process:

Google Play processes purchases made through Google Play Billing. Focus does not receive your card number or Google Play payment credentials. For older Razorpay AutoPay subscriptions, Focus may process the subscription identifier and status to help manage that existing subscription. Razorpay processes payments under its own privacy terms.

How we use and share information

We use information to sign you in, provide and verify Premium access, apply eligible offers, send account or subscription updates you request, operate app settings delivered through Remote Config, respond to support requests, and process account-deletion requests.

Focus uses Google Firebase services, including Authentication, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Remote Config, and Firebase Cloud Messaging, to provide account, server, configuration, and push-notification features. Google may process technical service information such as device, app, and network details to operate and secure these services. Google Play handles Play purchases; Razorpay may handle legacy AutoPay subscriptions. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not sell personal information. Focus does not use study activity or notification content to create advertising profiles. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or our legal rights.

Children and student users

Focus is a study-support app that may be used by school-age students. Parents or guardians should review sign-in, purchase, and device-permission choices with younger users. We use account details to provide sign-in and account-linked features, and we do not sell children’s personal information or use study and notification content for targeted advertising. A parent or guardian can contact us with a privacy question or deletion request.

Retention and deletion

On-device information remains in Focus until you clear Focus app data or uninstall the app. Android backups may preserve eligible app data according to your device settings. A web account-deletion request removes Focus account and associated cloud records after the deletion process completes; Focus disables the account while cleanup runs and retries failed cleanup automatically. Google/Firebase may retain authentication and service logs under their own retention rules, even after Focus account data is deleted.

Deleting your Focus account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play to stop future charges. Google Play and Razorpay may retain their own purchase or payment records under their policies. To remove local study records, clear Focus app data or uninstall Focus on each device.

Your choices and contact

You can turn off Android permissions or notifications in device settings, change optional news-and-offers preferences in Focus, and request account deletion in the app or through the link below. You can contact us about this policy or your information at roysfocus@gmail.com.
